Default Already available on amazon?

Check it out, dudes

http://wireless.amazon.com/Samsung-C.../dp/B003TLMQG8

By the way, I found that link by searching with google. Actually searching wireless.amazon.com for the captivate brings up nothing. (?)

edit: I haven't tried ordering from that page, since I'm still debating whether to keep this Aria or not, so use it at your own risk. Certainly looks legit though..

$600 off contract?!?! What is wrong with these people? Good find though. I've never heard of that site before

I got my Aria from that same site, except it was a very reasonable $50 with a family contract extension.

But I agree, something is afoot. Either their pricing is way off, or the tech blogs have been misinformed about the Captivate's launching price. I heard 340 was the off contract price, but that doesn't really make much sense considering the Aria's off contract price is 380, and the N1 was like 540.. Who knows?

The $149 price is for a new contract. Contract extension price is $224.

Yeah seriously, I always wondered about that too - what's stopping someone off-contract from just closing the account and opening a new one the next day for the extra discount? Unless you're grandfathered into some unlimited plan you want to hang on to, I don't see how they could stop you from doing it.

Your account must be closed for 60 days in order for the system not to recognize you as a new customer. For example, if you port your number to Sprint for 45 days and decide to go back to AT&T you can pick up right where you left off. It's very easy for them to stop you from doing it and they will. Trust me I've tried it.
Nexus One - Froyo 2.2 - AT&T (Retirement)
Moto Droid - VZW (Retirement)
HTC Droid Incredible - VZW
Apple iPhone 4 - AT&T
