Thanks, I was having a hard time finding that mode as well.

It actually works really well. There are some ugly JPEG artifact issues, but it's way better than I expected it to be.

Can anyone actually post some night mode screenshots of actual night time?

Night time, with (or without) my laptop's diffused light source is pitch black. It's terrible.

This is why LED flash is a good thing. :/

So, it shouldn't be called 'Night Mode', so much as it should be called 'Low-Light Mode'. As a low-light adjustment, it's quite good. In the darkness of night, it's abysmal.

It's not "Light Mode" that's for certain. It's not going to perform a miracle and create light where there isn't any. An LED has a range of about 3FT and overexposure in all 3. If you really need an LED flash that bad you should be well aware of the fact that this phone doesn't have one.

Why are you taking pictures in pitch black? You'll get terrible pictures either way. With LED flash you'll have the horrible "Flash effect", and with night mode you have a ton of grainyness. I mean at least with night mode you can zoom out and still have a decent picture if you lower the resolution to decrease the artifacts. With flash, it's just like "ewww" everytime you view it.

What's the deal with all of the smart-ass, catty posts on here? Brand loyalty? Typical internet?

I obviously understand that there isn't an LED flash (with an effective range of 'x-ft.' -- this apparently never changes, regardless of bulb?). All I did was post to help someone. And besides, when was it ever a bad thing to have an option?

Under the conditions of moonlight, it's almost pitch-black. Under the conditions of a setting sun, it's actually really decent. That is all.

How is a flash going to help you under the conditions of "Moonlight"?
