Default After Unboxing the Vibrant...would it be better to...

...turn on the phone and mess with it till the battery is completely dead, and recharge it to 100%

or

charge it fully 100% before turning it on for the first time?

i havent had a new phone in a while but i remember that most companies suggested doing one of those things? something about maintaining long-term battery life

I don't think it effects modern batteries as much with that whole 'refresh the power cycle' business.

Either way: I needed the phone for the rest of the day, so I ended up charging mine right away. Hasn't been wonky, aside from the icon not matching up with the percentage of battery left.

Otherwise, I will note: overall battery life has been pretty amazing. The SAMOLED screen really is unbelievable...

I used mine without a full charge too. Loaded all my apps and did a root.

ah alright thanks so i guess ill just let it charge right away then! =]

oh and the battery icon isnt a glitch or anything, android uses, i believe, 5 images to represent the battery icon up top. always has, at least on my g1. they represent certain percent ranges like 5-15 16-30 and so on. kinda sucks but ive never found it a big deal on my g1 and when cyanogenmod came out with the percentage overlay over the battery icon i was irritated and frustrated by my g1's battery life so imo its better to just get the warning at 15% cuz if i see it dropping constantly i get paranoid lol
