Default Not getting facebook notifications

Im new to android, as a matter of fact I returned my iPhone to get the captivate and i thought i setup my facebook notifications up right but aparently im not getting my reply to comments etc, i setup the facebook widget on my homescreen but not getting anything...any thoughts?

Only thing I can think of is make sure you havent used a task killer to kill any facebook tasks. If you do that then the facebook widgets stop working I believe.

yeah afaik i dont think i have one...but still like i said im an android n00b.

What kind of facebook notifications are you talking about?

I use the "Feeds and Updates" widget that comes stock on the Captivate and it seems to work ok. Sometimes you have to get it to manually update though.

im talking abt the updates when someone comments on yer status, etc...

As far as I know and Ive seen this posted elsewhere with different devices Andriod does not have instant notifications ala IPhone notifications. I found this out when my Fiancee got the EVO 4G. The only way (for now) to get those notifications is to have a text message sent IIRC...

Yes, there are no push notifications on android as there are on iphone. Some apps you can set to go out and actively check for things every few minutes, such as sports scores, emails, twitter updates, etc. But then that obviously uses more battery power. But no push notifications (except for google applications like gmail and google voice).
