Lightbulb my own charcher/usb stand

pics will be up soon my hero is going through a battery wipe
anyway what i found was a blackberry stand that had a usb plug out the side(why it wasnt at the bottom of the stand were the phone sits i have no clue) put my hero on it(with case i bought at sprint) and it fit perfectly. So after loooking around i decied to cut a whole at the bottom so the usb can go through.
heres what i did
1 I took off these rubber things at the bottom to reveal 4 hex? screws and unscrewed.
2 i took it apart and as i though there was no wiring at the top just plastic so i got a hunting knife and cut a whole for the usb to go through but tightly.
3 I put a bunch of tape around the usb plug so it wouldnt move since i didn't have any glue.(later found it it doesnt matter read next step)
4 while screwing back together the usb plug was a bit long and i had to forcefully screw it back the gather which is when i found out of course.
that was all i did but i like it it fits on no problem and it even has a switch for charging and file transfer to pc. A free fix that works great.

The USB was on the side because most model blackberries USB port is on the side of the phone instead of top/bottom for most Android phones.
