Default GAme FPS slow?

OK so I switch from an Evo 4g hoping to get much better fps, but most games are lagging horribly.
Games Like Need for Speed,Raging Thunder 2 and Dungeon Hunter.
At times I think I'm getting burst of speed around 35+, but most of the time it looks about >20 fps. Is it that massive bloat ware slowing me down or is it the droid X OMAP not handling the games well?
Wheres the +60FPS dammit

You could try making sure no apps are running with some kind of task manager and make sure under settings and battery you have it set to hi performance,

Part of the slowdown has to do with the GPU, if you watch the videos where they bench the nexus 2.2 inc and X you'll see that because of the dedicated gpu on the X it scores much higher, but if you what the footage on the x you'll notice 2 things, 1 it freezes at a point, and this wasn't just that one test i've repeated and have the same freeze happen on my x as well as a droid (in the same spot) which makes sense both GPUs for the droid and x are the same.

As well you can notice that it doesn't properly render the shadow of the tree, my guess is the gpu can't figure out how to use the graphical data. (so if it's not even displaying the imagine at full quality or detail i'd imagine it have a bit of a leg up on speed)

So those are things to keep in mind, i shut down all my apps and in smart mode for the battery. NFS runs pretty well. maybe try a reboot

Thanks for the reply
I have Task Killer's autokill set to Crazy, and I have reboot about 3 times today. I never notice the X has Battery modes (thanks for that tip), but I set mine to Performance Mode and it helped a bit. Anyone know what exactly the different battery modes alter?
Also I have also ran 2 GPU/FPS speed test app and got decent to great scores so I figure it has to be something running i the background that task Killer cant kill or doesn't see.
... guess I'll have to learn how to root this thing and Remove some bloat.

If there is anything that my x doesn't lag in its the games. I mean this thing plays the need for speed shift like crazy. Like as good as my ps3 lol. I think that there was an early batch of x's that went out that r buggy. Hopefully the 2.1 with blur that we have is just a placeholder for 2.2 that is to come. I think that we will see it about the same time as they launch droid 2. Its the same hardware except there are a few things that the x actually has that are better. Hope u figure out ur issues. I know that my quadrant scores are rediculous and mine runs games flawlessly. I average about 1250 on quadrant im assuming that is about normal foe these phones. Anyway goodluck

Try setting the task manager to something below crazy. Disable it altogether to test with and see if performance improves

There are alot of apps that show ur FPS in 2D and 3D and after trying them and watching a couple of videos on youtube i've concluded that the x blows everything made away. I watched a vid with the EVO N1 and x and the only thing that the x lost to benchmark wise was the N1 linpack. And of course it has froyo. Once we get froyo id bet this thing will be so fast u will want it to be slower. I would also bet that froyo will have much less bugs considering that when droid 2 comes out that's what it will have and it will be much more complete. Froyo, ahhhh.

Idont think its going to get insane linpack scores though. I think the snapdragon just hanndles processes a little bit better than the omap, that's why our raw operation test scores are low, although the phone is fast. Insane quadrant scores, yes. Linpack, no.

Linpack for n1 2.1 was only 6.... with 2.2 its 40 Ish.
Droid x on 2.1 is 8 to 9, so on 2.2 it should kill, like 45 to 50
