Default first full day with android

hey guys i wanted to give people an idea of how this holds up to a full days use as my main os. Im happy to report that the battery very much surprised me.

Started this morning with it fully charged (though it only went to 99% after a full night charge) at 8am. Did my normal thing, texting surfing the internet, no calls only checked a voicemail and here it is 9pm and i have 43% left.

The phone never got any hotter than with winmo when surfing the internet. I didnt have any hangups, black screens, reboots or any issues at all. So it looks like it can only get better with more development.

My setup:
tmous HD2
Freshly installed newest energy rom
2.10 radio
dan1j3l froyo 2.2
july 23rd zimage
4gb class 10 micro sd

I've been running nearly the exact same setup even down to using the Energy ROM (although I'm using the July 21st build, like it better). It's worked beautifully.

Wow me too, Energy 21st build, only thing I don't like is the new lockscreen.

Anyways, even though WinMo is so much more polished, can't stay away from Android...

Been running straight for 3 days ish, advanced task killer helps battery life alot... I think. =)

There's a fairly simple registry edit to get rid of that Android style lock screen. I didn't like it either.

WinMo to me is much more visually pleasing, but I run Android when I want APPS. They have tons of games for free that are hundreds of times better than anything you can get for WinMo. I love that we as HD2 owners have the option of running both operating systems. We get to run WinMo or Android on the HD2 but if you have say, an EVO 4G, you think you'll be able to run WinMo for some of IT'S benefits? Hell no. And no matter what some people here may say, WinMo DOES have some benefits that Android does not.

Only occasionally but to be honest, I RARELY use my HD2 for it's phone, heh. I'm more of a text person and when I'm at the office or home I just use a lan line, as I only have 750 minutes a month shared with my fiancee since neither of us like to talk on the phone much.

Besides some known issues and instabilities my main problems are as following:

- no bluetooth headset (not working in my car)
- slow internef browser (scrolling is choppy)
- lags and timeout problems
- echo for outgoing calls
- no volume control

Crash

Personally I disliked WinMo, even with Sense. It felt so "static".

As for benefits WinMo has over Android, why don't you label some?
Even with the unstable builds, I've been purely using android on my HD2 since the SOD was fixed, and plenty before that too while I was at home and could keep it plugged in and the screen on.

i am running dan's first froyo rom with the 7/23 zimagemand i am mostly in love with it. everything works perfectly besides the known issues (which really don't use much anyway). battery life is pretty good. i was at 100% at about 2 pm and by the time i got off work, after listening to music for about an hour and a half, some calls, lots of messages, and installing all of my favorite apps, got home with 15%. im gonna see how long i can go without have to reboot or use winmo.

Little update on battery life, 11:34 pm and still have 35% battery, not too bad really. I had read in an early review of the evo that it couldnt go a full day without needing a charge.
