Default Restart loop of death

Have noticed this a few times and wondering if there is an easy fix.

Few roms now I have finally had to restart (After 3 days running) and I get this loop of death around the battery status.

Failed to find rootfs on SD card. You need to unzip a rootfs
/bin/sh can’t access tty
266.56 : HTCleo battery 0-0026 : I2CV_Read_Status
266.56 : HTCleo battery 0-0026 : I2C_Read_Data
266.57 : HTCleo battery 0-0026 : ACR=4211 FL=1256 RAAC=95
266.57 : HTCleo battery 0-0026 : Batt: 95%, 4053 mV, -121mA (-121avg, 28.3c, 1152ma
316 : HTCleo battery 0-0026 : I2c_Read_status

I have just re-dumped the whole image back onto the SD card less the data.img file and restarting.

Is this a known problem?

Any easy way to fix?

Update - Looks like the issue is in the data.img. Might be corrupt. ISs there a chkdsk for img files?

Really don't want to loose my configuration.

ive had the loop only when my data hasn't filled itself in as in when I've deleted the data file & there hasn't been enough storage to make up a full data file, check you've got enough storage on card
Rom Energy Cookies GTX

radio 2.12.50.02_2

Android CMN 6.1 v1.02

HERE IS YOUR QUICK FIX!

I had this problem tons of times and had to wipe and reinstall android and lose all my files

Really all you have to do is sync your phone to a pc on WM boot and erase the android folder on the root of your SD card. Don't worry you will not lose any documents, Linux will remake the folder uncorrupted when booting into android the next time!

Hope this helps!

This is not my solution, but it works:
Boot into WinMo, go to your SD card and delete the "android" folder.
Once you've done that you can run clrcad and haret and you won't "loop". Even better any customization will still be there.

Thanks for the workaround! That seems to work.

Now as to the cause. Could it be that we are not waiting for the OS to shutdown all the way when we power down?
