Question Upgrading to CM nightly- question about swype

I'm debating upgrading to the newest nightly of cyanogenmod however I really do not want to let go of my stock swype. I'm not interested in using an alternate app like shapewriter either....

Has anyone successfully loaded the stock apk onto their CM build for this phone? If so, please explain how!

Thanks!

I suggest you sign up for the Swype beta and wait patiently.

Well, if you need a froyo rom with Swype you should download Eugene's Froyo (newbuild.zip) and flash it via ROM Manager. Otherwise, no, there's no way to salvage it.

Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749273 . Some of the people here don't like Swype and are totally against installing it on other ROMs but it is doable.

Thanks for the link, i'm in the process of going through it.

I don't see why anyone would not want swype at least as an option on a custom rom, especially since the stock version runs beautifully. Swype is really smooth and accurate, so much so that I wouldn't mind not having a hardware keyboard!

swype is an acquired taste lol some like it some dont but once you use it and get used to it its the best at what it does! sign up for the beta and they should send you a swype installer pretty quickly only real problem is that it isnt themed like the one that comes with the slide

go to 4shared and search for swype there should be a themed version that doesnt get old

and on another note if you sign up and register on swype then search for a swype installer and use that you should be able to use swype that way since it will see you are registered to use it and what not!
