Default How is the battery life on Galaxy S phones?

I notice the Epic is packing a 1500mAh battery. How should it compare to the others in the family, and how do they perform?

One reviewer got 84 hours of battery life with moderate use..including watching a movie and etc...the battery life should be one of the best..but things to consider are:

CDMA takes more battery then GSM
Wimax takes up a bunch of battery if your in a place with not consistent signal
Some firmware does better then others
It varies and some people claim certain batteries need to be trained before getting full battery life...

Either way it will definitely beat an EVO in battery life..and once we tweak it up a bit im sure we can get it really good....

I'd be extremely impressed if it beat the EVO, but I guess that isn't hard to image given the Super AMOLED screen. I get pretty good battery life right now, but that would just be another perk if I decide to take the plunge.

Well also the CPU is 45nm compared to the snapdragon being 65nm...

also I am hoping 4g works better with the samsung phone as samsung helped deploy the 4g network for sprint..

Really now? I've never head of this. Samsung isn't a Clearwire partner...

I'd be impressed by the Evo if the Galaxy S doesn't at least double the Evo's battery life, 45nm processor, no junk in the trunk (Snapdragon).

Sprint's determined deployment of WiMax continued this week as the firm awarded a contract to Samsung Electronics to deploy the mobile network infrastructure in the New York City region.
Samsung has already been rolling out WiMax in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, and Providence, R.I., as Sprint prepares to launch its services. Sprint said it expects mobile Internet services to be available for New York area customers in late 2008.

Sprint's New York-area WiMax service will cover New York City; Nassau-Suffolk, Long Island; Jersey City, N.J; and some areas in northern and central New Jersey including the Newark, Bergen-Passaic, Middlesex-Somerset-Hunterdon, and Monmouth-Ocean regions.
As the lead vendor in the rollout, Samsung will manufacture and install radio access equipment and supply chipsets and mobile devices.
Lets not talk how Sprint was 2 years late on those promises though lol

Having had 2 Evos since release I know they can't do much worse, the battery is pretty much dead if you leave 4G on for more than 2-3 hours.
