That is probably something that is governed by state law, not just store policy. Best thing to do is ask first, but I doubt that two different stores in the same state could treat the tax differently.

That's correct...varies from state to state

California charges on the full amount of the phone... lol I feel bad for those people, they pay $300 for a phone and $80 in taxes
