Yeah Barnacle works. I tried a few others which didn't. On my 2.1 streak many reported no netfilter in the kernel and wouldn't run, but Barnacle worked fine.

Many thanks I checked it out. Unfortunately it does not do usb. I have pcs without wireless.
Don't want to use PDAnet, I might get a bluetooth dongle and use the barnacle app.

Get a wifi dongle, faster, more reliable, and can be had for about $10 (USD) if you poke around.

And +1 for Barnacle Legacy wifi - works great, perfect price!

any word on a usb tethering application yet?

I've tried the few that I worked with before and they all claim that there is no kernel support. Barnacle works great for wifi, but I tether my laptop from work and since I can't turn off SSID broadcast I would rather not have network security poking around asking where a rogue WAP came from.

Thanks ahead of time.

I am using EasyTether right now while I am waiting for my home internet to be connected. Ive managed to get through many Gb of data (sorry phone provider). It is free but if you dont pay for it then you wont be able to access https:// sites after a while.

Would Barnacle allow the streak to connect to a home network? I've tried to use it but it only seems to use WEP encryption and I'd need it to use WPA.
