[Q] Running PB31IMG.zip from a Mac (OSX)

Hi-
I've been carefully following along and enjoying the progress the Dev community has made on the HTC Incredible. It is a great phone, that you are making better, that will be completely ridiculous once it gets 2.2 OTA.

In anticipation of the OTA, and as suggested by Unrevoked's twitter, I've set S-OFF in anticipation of an eventual OTA. I'm running stock 2.1, rooted, S-OFF, wifi-tether, and a few Sense apks disabled.

I'd love to show my support with the custom Unrevoked splash screen. However, on a Mac, I'm unable to get it to be accepted by HBOOT. It give me the "no image" error. I've tried formatting the /sdcard as FAT32 (in OSX), but no joy.

Any suggestions?

I believe os x does not give you any options of formatting in fat32 as far as byte size is concerned. I had a problem with that was well, but was able to overcome it by formatting my sdcard on a windows machine as fat32 but with a 1k allocation size instead of the default 4k allocation size. This fixed my problem. Good luck.

Allocation size might not be the right word...I think it is though.

Okay, agreed. Booted up good ol' XP in VMware fusion, and formatted card FAT32. Everybody lives happily ever after, splash screen is sweet, and I'm done dicking around with this phone until OTA comes out. See you guys then.

You can format in you phone then pull, be Careful once back in the phone MAC ( I own several and would not part with them) adds hidden files you will be able to see them once in the phone they will start with a . or an underscore, remove them then start the process of the splash screen.
