So this just popped up on twitter from Android Central forums!


Samsung Epic system dump!

I wasn't expecting a dump to show up so quickly, but I'm hoping it means we get some development right when the phone comes out the gates!

I'm downloading the dump now in case it gets pulled!

I smell a before release working root! :Well nevermind :P

And it has begun. *giddy with excitement*

Yes! I'm still gonna wait a minimum of maybe 2 weeks to root to make sure that all parts/software are functioning as they should... but it seems like there are people already compiling roms!

You can undo root by flashing stock rom.

Alternate download location linked in this thread, just in case the original file gets pulled. Let the hacking begin, and pass some of that goodness to us Captivate owners too.

Where can I find the Epic 4g static wallpapers in the dump? What directory is it in?

I found some in system/app/launcher/res/drawable-hdpi and depending on how touchwiz works there might be more in the TouchWiz30Launcher.apk as well...

What are the names of those wall papers? I looked through that directory and was having trouble finding them...
