Thumbs up 64 bit and flash problem and cure. Finally rooted

For whatever reason I couldn't get my X10i to stay in flash to get the whole rooting business started. I'm using Windows 7 and it's on a 64bit system. Anyways after a lot of head scratching, swearing and a few late nights I finally beat it in to submission. I found this

Exploid Root Method for Xperia X10 [Tutorial] | Xperia X10 Blog

which although seemed a little long winded it seems to of done the trick FINALLY!! I've d/loaded the barnacle tether and the ti backup both of which required the superuser permissions.

I'm not sure if this method is common knowledge(it may well be) but it is certainly the easiest for someone who is(was ) struggling.
Now I just gotta find a way of making my battery last more than 14 hours and I'll be as happy as a pig in pooh

I'm using Win 7 x64 and was rooted not long after reading THIS thread, I also had no trouble using THIS method, and having had to do yet another reflash yesterday, have used the Standalone X10 root.apk v. 1.06.

And yes it's common knowledge, evident by the one or two threads on the same page you posted your topic.
