USB Tether

So I tether my computer to my 3G connection via USB with pdanet... but whenever I hook it up and use my phone, it doesn't charge my phone, and I lose quite a bit of battery after using my phone for a while... And the phone gets pretty warm...

And, I've also been hearing things about an actual cap to 3G data... should I not be tethering?

I can't say that I am wholly surprised that your phone is getting warm. I'm not sure about the charging though. The longer you use your phone, especially while connected through USB will get warmer and if it doesn't get charged it will die significantly faster. Without PDANet does it charge via USB fine?
