Talking Question: Flashing Samsung Vibrant with Samsung Galaxy S Rom is it possible ?

Hi all,

I'm planing soon to buy T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant through ebay. As it's mentioned in my profile I'm from Bahrain and I don't need T-Mobile junk software like Account, TV, etc..

So my question is it possible to flash Original Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 to Samsung Vibrant ?

Are they exactly same in terms of Hardware ? I had HTC HD2 before and it's not possible to flash Euro version on T-Mobile version. So what about this one?

Thanks in advance..

The hardware is DEFINITELY not the same. Well it kind of is, but the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S has a frontal camera whereas the Vibrant does not. And the vibrant has four buttons whereas the international has I believe 2 and a trackball (i think?)
Nexus 4 (E960): CarbonRom Nightlies | Franco Kernel (latest nightly)
ASUS Transformer (TF101): Team EOS4 #150 | K.A.T. 90
Older phones: Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Samsung Vibrant, G1

Bell Mobility (in Canada) sells the "Galaxy S Vibrant" that comes with only 3 front facing buttons; from left to right: menu/options button, action/home button and the back/cancel button.

So "Vibrant" may mean different things to different people, depending on who or where you ask.

Edit: Oh I forgot, my Bell Galaxy S Vibrant has a tiny front camera as well. I haven't used it for anything yet, but you can install the 'Mirror' app on the market to at least see it in action.
