Default The Advantages of Froyo roms

I've been using KaosFroyo, but I am wondering what advantages the other roms may have over this one. I read somewhere that one of them has Flash 10 working, but I do not believe it.

And does anyone have any idea on the progress being made on a Froyo with Sense Rom. I seen Kaos said he was looking into it. I really like using a Froyo rom, but I do need sense since it has Flash Light built into it. My reason for needing flash light has nothing to do with videos or games, but is a real necessity.

Please leave smart comments and jerks out of this forum. Answers and things that will truly contribute to the discussion and be able to educate.

The question you need to ask yourself before you ask this question, is what do you need that KaosFroyo doesn't do, besides flash, which isn't supported with our chipset.

It's not about what KaosFroyo isn't doing, it's more about if the other roms do those things better. The other thing I would like to know is what separates the various versions of Froyo apart from each other.

And Flash Lite is supported by the Eris(it comes with the phone), but you need Sense.

Fair enough, but that's a pretty loaded question.

You don't need flashlite for KaosFroyo, just use SkyFire, enables flash video on several sites. Same limitations as Flashlite/Sense basically.

Not totally correct. While SkyFire does solve the video issues, my college is online and I have to access their website. Their site requires Flash. Flash Lite was good enough to access their site. SkyFire does not solve that problem. That problem will exist until there is a Sense based Froyo Rom.

I really just want to know what separates the Froyo roms apart from each other though. As with 2.1 roms, it all depends on one's preference on what one uses. I just wish that I could use the same sd card for both 2.1 and 2.2 so I could go back and forth between roms without either changing sd cards or formatting them everytime.

You don't have to change sd cards just make a nandroid backup of your 2.2 than flash what 2.1 rom you want after wiping data/factory and dalvik and set it up and make another nand backup of your 2.1 and restore ba k and forth. I tmrun kaos frayo and e dry great while ill restore a nand of darch vanilla 2.1 and mess with it than go right ba k to frayo

would I be able to save data on it from other things if I do that. I have a backup of both Ivans and KaosFroyo on mine, but I can't save regular data when I go back and forth. for the time being, I copied all the data that I use when using Ivan;s over to my computer and formatted sd card to save data, and use apps2sd with froyo.

I don't know if its a conspiracy or not, but I think Google set it up differently to increase sd card sales, lol

I also flash back and forth between 2.1 and 2.2 frequently (Senseable and KaosFroyo) without changing our modifying my SD card. I have noticed no problems, but I don't use apps2sd on 2.1.

As far as flash 10.1 on the Eris not being supported, I don't see why it can't be done on Froyo, since it's already working on 2.1. It's a little slow but it's pretty good.
