Default Help... Battery indicator broken...

Ok, before I get flamed, I've been trying to search to find a solution to this problem. I read somewhere about there being a software glitch when you power off the phone while plugged in.

Well I did that by mistake and now my phone battery indicator totally doesn't work. The phone shows half charged even when full, even within settings. What can I do other than reflash? I tried to delete battery stats in rom manager but I don't think that will work because I have ryan zas lag fix installed. Can someone help me?

yea the phones battery indicator is off. Nothing you could do about it. I use a widget called "Batterylife" by CurveFish.
It works great and pretty accurate.

The solution is to root your phone and replace framework-res http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=758797
WARNING: Rooting your phone will void your warranty. Messing with the phone's filesystem and configuration presents a risk of bricking your phone, proceed with your own risk.

Just to clarify. I've never had this problem before, and its not the same as the battery indicator just being off. I'm not even getting the battery full pop up when plugged in and the settings show the actual percentage never full. I do however get normal battery life out of it regardless of what battery life shows, and I'm not just talking about the icon!

This started after powering off and then on while charging. The big green samsung battery icon popped up prior to the phone restarting and that was the start of this going on. I read about this issue on a prior thread but can't find it for the life of me, either when searching galaxy and vibrant using the search function. I want a mod, just the stock battery function as it was before.

Thanks for any help!

Did you try flashing one of the more accurate battery indicators? Check out the ones in Themes section. They have the battery % and are either stock looking or circular. That might reset the indicator.
