i'm happy, i wish it was an htc device as they have always been very solid and i love the sense ui, but with launcher pro and some tweaks this is great! i def reccomend over an iphone 4! the customization is just crazy! i can customize this more than my old blackberry, and i thought that was really good.

I say make the switch, I came from a tilt 2 as well running froyo and haven't looked back. People complain about lag on the captivate but I feel like they have never used a touch pro or touch pro 2. My biggest concern was the lack of a physical keyboard due to having trouble typing on friend's iPhones but the screen is big enough that I prefer having a slimmer phone instead of a keyboard.

thanks for ur response! were u able to keep ur unlimited data plan or did u have to switch? i was reading that when texting, the keyboard takes a lot of room on the screen? hard to believe since the screen is big as it is.... and true bout coming from a touch pro/touch pro 2 bout lag... im sure its super quick! my touch pro 2 lags all the time and cant wait to see how a true smartphone should run!

We get grandfathered into the unlimited plan. The keyboard does take up about half the screen when typing but I see that as a positive cause I have big hands.

Plus it's nice to finally have a phone with a 3.5mm headphone Jack. Also the app market is awesome and there are a ton of great games if you are into that.

Now we just gotta wait patiently til froyo gets officially released but to be honest I am happy with 2.1 so far, not that I don't want 2.2.

I love my captivate. I haven't experienced any of this so called lag. Watching youtube videos of droid x and others make me cringe by how laggy their devices look compared to my butter smooth captivate. I also really like the stock tw launcher better than launcher l pro. I don't get where all the hate is coming from. Its nearly identicle and works perfect.

Waste of a post.

My wife and I are happy with our Captivates. I had a Storm and she was using a Tour 9630. I have never been a physical keyboard person so I have loved the screen and using swype. My wife is making the transition pretty well. She still wants to hunt and peck using swype but she loves what can be done on the phone. We both have lag (wakeup lag) which is what most people experience. But I just haven't but the lagfix bag on my phone. There are issues, but there are issues with every phone. Just read up in the forums with what people are experiencing and the potential fixes.
