Default Lazy People

Why is it that people can NOT read a forum before posting a question? Every forum i have read answers my question with out even posting a question. Why then do people insist on posting a question here and wasting time these guys can be spending on comming up with the MODS we the people want/need. I can not afford a Captivate for another month or so, but I already have a lot of answers/solutions to my questions or potential problems. Reading forums is not anymore time consumming that posting a question and waiting a few hours or days for the answer. I really hate it when I see that an answer is "Its has already been posted. I have read through this forum many times and I think my only remaining question might be in understanding the technical "How to's". HOWEVER i know where the asnwer of "How to" s Located. Just my pennies worth. I can't afford my two cents worth... LOL

The problem exists on all forums everywhere. People want to be spoon fed as it is easier then actually searching for answers. Searching requires work, and most people have an aversion to work.

Those who can, use Google; those who can't, ask those who can.

If only i could get paid for my search skills.

Default Still consider myself a noob

Even though I have been on this site for a couple of years, and have successfully flashed way too many windows roms, I would still consider myself a noob, because I have not the skills and knowledge that many of you do. I myself have been made fun of for posting a "noob" question, and it is not fun. I always search before I ask a question, but sometimes I don't know the correct term to search for, so have no luck finding an answer. I understand how frustrating it is for you developers and advanced users to have such simple seeming questions, but please give some of us a break, not all of us are looking to be spoon fed, but actually have searched and are still frustrated. I myself am an avid researcher. I have been on this site for the past week looking at the Samsung Captivate that I hope to have in my hands on Monday and cannot wait to get started with it. I may have questions so please forgive me if they sound simple to you, I will always search first, and only post if I can't find the answer.

Just my thoughts. No offense intended to anyone.

Well, it's one thing to ask a question where you need help. There seem to be a fair number of people who just ask questions because they are lazy. There was a thread in the general section where the poster said they were considering getting a Captivate, Vibrant or Streak, and then continued to ask the following questions:

1) Has the Bootloader been hacked?
2) Are there custom ROMs?
3) Which has a bigger developer community?
4) Can they use the international (Galaxy S/i9000) firmwares?
5) What are the advantages and disadvantages of using international firmware?
6) What accessories are available?

When informed these questions can be answered with a cursory look at the development forums for both phones, the OP replies they they are looking for "opinions" from people who own the phones. Sorry pal, the questions you asked have factual answers that can be easily obtained by a quick look at the developers forums. Lazy is lazy, no matter how you phrase it.

I think it's instances like these people are frustrated with.

It may take a long time but taking the extra bit of time will save you hours in the long run.

There wouldn't be 12345 pages of crap if you people would stop making duplicate threads for questions already answered and linking to news that's already been posted. Do your part.

Also, pro-tip... use the search function to cut down on the 12345 pages of crap and get a few pages of relevant search results.
