Default galaxy s official froyo! edit...not official :( still bugy

I saw this over on the I9000 forums and just thought you all may be interested, hopefully the us versions will be soon to folow!

Edit.... evan though it is coming through kies it appears to not be the official 2.2 upate we are all waiting for it still has alot of bugs . Sorry to get everyones hopes up.

Just got it installed myself... but it isn't really official =P Still a beta build that requires test mode and registry spoofing to install. But it's a lot more refined than JP2 and JP3

Hi Zilch

what are the known issues with captivate and what instructions did u follow to get it installed ?

Wow!... They said September End, looks like its going to be earlier than that...

Any ideas how its gonna work with the Captivate and how to install?

I'm still trying to get it to get onto the AT&T network, and no I'm using the actual froyo kernel. There isnt a 2.2 captivate kernel yet.

These are the instructions I followed:

Couple modifications though, I'll elaborate in a couple mins- but you DO need kies to do this

Means you still have the home/back button issue? and the speaker issues?

Yep, back/home problems are still there, speaker problems are still there, and auto rotate still needs to be toggled off

back/home can be fixed , autorotate i can live with it by turning it off

speaker is going to be the major issue.
