Mini Pro FOTA 1.2.A.1.174 incl. Root

I downloaded fota.package and modded it so that it roots directly.
This Fota package is taken from generic UK (WORLD-1-8) Firmware.
It MAY work on other firmwares too.
Please notice that this will only work from a 1.1.a.0.8 Firmware. AND if you have problems with the FOTA it is 99% caused by deleted apps from your phone.
(Background info: FOTA is a binary diff. IF you deleted DEMO's etc. The diff is not right anymore and it fails. If you have this probs you have to restore the original firmware).

The Package contains a RootMe.bat. This will guide you through the process.
After the DebugMenu popsup. You have to choose Option 6 "Update from SD-Card" (ONLY HIT ONCE! It takes some time until the phone responds!)
After all is done you will end with a rooted new firmware

Thanks binary, do you know if that fw contains fr language ? I'll need to reinstall my phone in a few days.. Made too much tests and changes and broke things hehe..

Failed to copy??

I get "Failed to copy file from Sdcard"... When pushing "Update by package in SDCard"...

Log says:

What to do???

You are the second one with this problem. Which is you firmware and from which country is it ? Maybe we have different rights of FOTA App (DMClient) :/ I have to check this.

I get the same error:
"Failed to copy file from Sdcard"


But I can't see the log...

I'm on U20i 1.1.a.0.8 fw, Hungary, vodafone.
I have attached my default.prop and build.prop files too, don't know if that helps...

My phone is a O2 branded Uk phone...

Firmware is: 1.1.A.0.8..

Yeah i have an idea. I worked much with my mini pro. and so i crossflashed the systemdir from mini. (To test some ideas for chrooting into froyo :P) So maybe this is the reason for me the DMClient is allowed to copy over fota.pkg.
I think that it will work if you put X10 mini DMClient.apk and DMClient.odex into system/app (don't forget to chmod 644). I have to try but first i must flash to original 1.1.a.0.8 to try and i cannot do it now because my system is running some tests now.
