Default How do i enable google voice?

Normally under call setting you can change your voicemail provider, but there is no such option on the epic under call settings. Are we unable to use google voice with this phone?

After you have everything set up in gv settings, use conditional call forwarding if your plan allows for it. Go look and make sure. Then from the cell phone do *28(areacodeand#). That's in case you dump a call, it goes to gv vm. Is that what you're asking? I haven't tested to make sure it works yet but I think it will. *38 will undo ccf.

Step 1) Install the Google Voice app from the market place.
Step 2) Run the app.
Step 3) Follow the instructions that popup on your screen.
Phone: Galaxy Note LTE, Epic 4G, EVO 4G, DROID Incredible, HD2, AT&T Tilt2, AT&T Tilt

Ive done all that, im talking about going into call settings and changing the voicemail carrier from sprint to google voice. Theres an option in most other android phones, but there is no option to change carrier on this phone

I was having this issue as well. I have GV installed and I use it for voicemail only. On my Hero it let me change the voicemail number manually in the settings. I do not see this setting on the Epic.

That is the way to do it.

I know when I had CM6 on my Evo, I had to use *28 to go to Google Voice.

I just tested it and it works. Make sure gv is set up then dial *38 send and wait for it to beep then hang up. Then dial*28 then your area code and number of your google voice then send. Listen for the beeps then it will hang up on you. You're all set now. If someone calls your sprint number and you let it ring or reject it, it will go to gvvm. If they call gv number, if you let ring our reject call, it will go to gvvm. Don't worry about the voicemail setting for the phone. Just get gv app set up completely on phone, make sure the gv account settings are straight from a regular computer online, tell your phone to conditional call forward, then everything should work like normal (minus the choose voicemail setting that isn't there on the phone).

One last thing, make sure the plan you have includes conditional call waiting for free or if it doesn't you're gonna get charged for it. If someone calls gv #, that is considered a landline and won't be anytime mobile. If you call out through gv, that's considered you calling a land line so that won't be included with anytime mobile minutes. I have the kitchen sink plan so that doesn't go against me.
