Default No LED notification for SMS messages?

Anyone else not getting a LED notification for text messages? Seems like I'm getting them for e-mails and whatnot, just not texts. Check options and didn't see anything initially to change it. Would I have to download Chomp or Handcent in order to get it?

I get a flashing led in the upper right whenever I get a new text. Works for e-mail too.

Actually I just now noticed I get them but it flashes maybe 2-3 times then goes away. I'm so used to my Hero flashing constantly so I wouldn't have to unlock to see what I got.
