[q] mt3g + amon_ra + cm6 = fail?

I must be a complete bonehead because I can't get this to work.

MT3G, starting from a freshly loaded 1.5 factory build via gold card.

1) Followed Amon_RA's instructions for perfect SPL's here:

2) Installed Amon_RA's recovery image 1.7 sapphire H (G would not load).

3) Wiped everything from the device via the recovery system.

4) Formatted the sdcard using the recovery system.

5) Installed CM6 via the recovery system

6) Reboot

7) Waited 30 minutes, no love. It just stays at the "HTC Magic" screen.

What gives? What log files should I produce to identify the issue?

Post also which roms you have tried to flash.. Which board versions have you tried? 32A or 32B?

Okay, while re-walking through the whole process I noticed that the working "stock" fastboot info was 32B G, but after flashing I wound up with 32B H. Confused by the G vs. H, I reloaded with my gold card to stock, got Universal Androot + ROM Manager, and I'm good to go.

I guess I feel like a jerk because I'm having a hard time understanding SPL/radio/G vs H/etc... and I'm a sysadmin for a living. Can someone share a concise write up on the whole stack so I can understand it better?
