Default Anybody tried this 32 gb sd card? Awefully cheap, is it worth it?

Found this on Ebay, don't know though. It comes out of Shanghai and the price is cheap. I'm more worried about cheap crap wrecking my phone. Anybody try one of these yet?

it won't wreck your phone, but it will probably die after a few weeks - if that long. If you but it, be prepared to throw away your money at some point and all the data on the card.

SanDisk probably won't warranty it because it is probably counterfeit.

DONATE TO ME
don't think u ever will get it

last 16gb card i bought over ebay was about 7€cheaper then all the rest and i never saw it - got money back by paypal thats why i tried (and he had about 100 positive votings).

this seems to be about 50€ cheaper then a normal 32GB card and he has 0 votings - so he propably tires to get the money and vanish into dust before Paypal can claim the money from him.

would buy something more recent.

I bought a 16gb kingston class 4 on amazon, it was around 45$, and they had a promo that if you signed up for an amazon credit card you get 30$ off your first bill. so bought it and paid it off for 15$.

Honestly, with Froyo coming soon and apps2sd, Id really reccomend investing in a good class 4 or 6. The faster the speed of the card, the faster your phone will be able to pull and push data to it.

Another note, my class 4 can move large files at about 8-9 mb/s, but if there are many small files it will only run about 3 mb/s, so Id really recommend a reputable brand. That is not to say the kingston doesnt work good, just to say one of those cheapo 30$ cards advertising class 6 will probably run much slower and break apart quickly

Good point about the speed issue. Can't wait for Froyo.

Class ratings apply to write speeds not read speeds. Theoretically you can write faster to higher class cards, but this usually applies to direct writes on the device (camcorder recording to card) not USB between phone and PC. The USB copies (PC to phone) may be faster, but you have a additional overhead of the USB bus.

Buy a name brand card. I have an 8Gb Sandisk class 2 and it works great for Camera, camcorder, and anything else i want to do with the phone software. My 1080P camcorder has class 6 cards, but it requires it.

I'd steer clear from buying memory cards/ usb flash drives on eBay. I've seen way too many people get scammed on getting what they thought was a 16gb flash drive and end up with a 128mb stick with 16gb screenprinted on it. These microSD's are no different.

Actually I tested this using the sdhc adapter directly to the SD card slot. so no USB/phone interface interfering here. And again, thats what I was stressing. Buy a name brand card, probably a class 4 or 6 considering the move to froyo.

So you got the same MB/s throughput with the card reader as well as the phone connected to the PC? Still puts the USB bus in the way. EDIT - NM I see what you were measuring.

I wonder what the transfer rate is on the phone - back and forth between internal SD and external SD.
