[Q] Locking screen with home button?

Would it be possible to modify a firmware or create an app that runs automatically, that would let the home button be used to lock screen? Kinda like the last thing, after returning to the home screen?

yes i guess it's possible, since it's open-source you can almost all you want.

I guess it has to be implemented in launcher.

Alternatively, is there a widget that simulates the lock button ?
Would be handy for me, i always mute my phone when i want to lock it LoL

Perhaps there is an application that can do for you ..
Download by market a free application called "lock screen widget"... put the widget on the home and lock the screen just click on the widget ..
I find it amazing ..

Im using a paid app called screen off. Works great. Tried other free ones but didn't work well.

I'll try to look into it, I have simple yet not-so-sure-about idea.
