Default [Q] Sony Ericcson X10 mini - connect to Hotmail

I have bought a new Sony Ericsson X10 mini.

I have tried to connect to Hotmail (as i do from a PC) from the browser. After entering username and password it only results in a blank screen and nothing more....

Is it also possible to add Hotmail as a new account and how to do (in the menu E-mail) ? - i have tried without a good result.

do any of you know what the problem is ?

The email application doesn't support Hotmail however I use the web browser to access my Hotmail account and it works perfectly. The pages are nicely formatted for the phone resolution. Try to clean the phone cache or reboot the phone. Also, which url are you trying to use? If you have problems with www.hotmail.com maybe you can try www.live.com.

Doesn't the mail app allow you to use POP3? Because if you look in the support section of hotmail it shows you what you need to set up POP3 for that account. I've set it up so it sends my hotmail messages to my Gmail account myself

I thought that you have to have a paid account before you can use POP3 with hotmail?

They changed that, I only have a free account myself.

Gmail has been offering free POP3 for a while, MS figured they better get on the ball as well.

Unfortunately this phone has the pathetic limitation of supporting only one account in the standard email client and Hotmail is kind of my secondary account so I am forced to use the mail client for the main account and the browser for Hotmail.
Rather than updating the operating system, SonyEricsson should spend money to:
- improve the mail client
- improve the music player
- put a few nice games in the phone (not those un-removable trial versions!!)

The one account only is part of the Android 1.6 OS. It it like that on other Android 1.6 phones too (e.g. HTC Hero). Should be solved when the 2.1 update comes out sunday
