Worked for me moving from Sprint Lovers, to Burnt Droid 1.4.2.

Thanks. This was driving me nuts, and draining my battery like crazy.

Happened out of nowhere. Everything was running fine. All I did was reboot to WinMo (not the first time either). Then when I booted back into Android it started FC'in all over the place. Market failed and I couldn't view my Contacts either. Speaking of which, it hasn't been updated either unless it was syncing or updating contact info in the background. Who knows...

Everything's working great... just had to give it some time to restore all the downloads and whatnot.
If you love the Darkstone Froyo SD built for HTC HD2 (like me), you should have saved-point on your computer harddrive. This's only my solution for time being since I've never succeeded with all tips here (with this SD-Built ROM) and the root of problems are still in doubt.

So, how to...

1. Since the errors (if any) are triggered when you boot or startup to Android. So let's try to reboot either hot or cold boot (Turn off & turn on again). If there's no such error message with FC then
- turn off your phone
- pop out the SD and put to USB or card adapter attached to your computer
- copy everything to a folder as a backup (don't forget to copy all hidden & system files as well).

2. Whenever you install new app or do a big change to your setting, redo the step 1 * * * Don't forget to do error-test before backup * * *

# # # You may have several backup folders on your harddrive for several error-free stages but in my practice I keep only the last 2 backups # # #

3. If in some unfortunated day you see the errors when startup your Android,
- take easy & turn off your phone
- format your SD (dont forget to backup your doc files first, if any)
- transfer all backup to the formatted SD
- Restore the SD back to HD2 and that's it.

Hope this may help you some.

Good Luck

The OP suggestion worked for me on darkstone's superram sense 0.1.

It was sufficient to clear the contacts storage for the errors to go away.

For most users, clearing the contacts storage should be sufficient.

Samsung Galaxy S 4: Cyanogenmod 10. JB 4.2
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10: Stock CM10.1 JB 4.2
Launcher:Nova Launcher Prime
SMS:AOSP SMS / Facebook Messenger
Video Player:MX Video Player / DICE player / VLC (in that order)
Audio Player:Spotify

Backup:Titanium Backup(apps)

Default did not work for me

droid incredible. The ghastly error hit me out of nowhere last night so I've lost most of my apps and those that are in the downloaded section of market to be reinstalled later will all have to be updated and customized again.....

After clearing the google contact and services and rebooting nothing has changed.

The google service error is preventing me reinstalling the apps such as SwiftKey, etc. so I can't hardly even type now haha.

Killing me.

Love the idea of copying the SD card in the future.

Anybody else have success in making this problem go away. Calling HTC soon but expect nothing than admonition to reset the phone....

jseville make sure you clear both market and contacts storage. Contacts storage is the main one to clear.

Also, if you backup your phone (titanium backup, backup everything, etc) do a factory reset then restore most things you should be right as rain .

I too have a droid incredible and have followed the very detailed (thank you) steps above and continue to get the dreaded message. Also, my phone will just restart itself randomly. Happens when I am on the phone. All of a sudden, call goes silent and phone is rebooting. Swapped equipment and still have BOTH issues.
Please let me know if there may be another trick out there!
Thanks

Something unique in your contacts maybe causing the issue.

Two phones with hardware problems in a row should be rare.

The acore error, although making the phone throughly unusable, will not make random reboots. I think there is more wrong with your phone. Possibly hardware wise but more likely software wise.
Two things you can try the following (do note, i dont have a Droid Incredible)
1. (best bet)
If you have root and/or a custom recovery you can try flashing on a new rom, wiping Dalvik cache,Cache (if you can do this in stock recovery on the Droid Incrediable give that a shot to, even if you dont have a custom recovery or root) and data. (Custom recovery and most root methods will void warranty, only try this step if you have already broken the warranty with a custom recovery or root)
2. Try to backup as much as you can to the SD Card ia Backup Everything/Titanium Backup. Then do a factory reset. (Will not void warranty)

If either of the two steps above do not work, then you may have two faulty (hardware wise) Droid Incredibles. In which case you can probably ring up HTC and complain.

Best of luck to you

EDIT: Also make sure Sync is OFF! Before and after reboot, the contact might be corrupted on the Google server as well...
