[Q] hero AOSP install darchdroid/CM6 help

hey guys im new to going root on my hero but i am fairly computer literate and pretty much got the hang of this. I have root with good radio and i can run macadorom no problem but whenever i try to install darchdroid 1 or 2.8 it says

"assert failed: getprop("ro.product.devic") == "heroc" l l get prop(ro.bE:unknown command [uild.product")]

E:error in /sdcard/darchdroid-v2.8.zip
(status 7)

installation aborted"

ive done everything accordingly and this is where im stuck the only reson im going with darchdroid and CM6 is because i want the wii remote and am willing to sacrifice the camera. as a side note I have wiped my data(with nandroid) but cant wipe my dalvik-cache it says do it in adb im not sure if this is relevant but its the only step i havent done.

i am on telus GSM hero please help!

also to mods i appologise if this in wrong section im new to xda and if you would move it accordingly that would be great, thanks
