Before you do anything, you need to take it to a store and have the phone properly flashed onto the Metropcs network.

When the phone is flashed you lose all of the PRL's you installed and all of the settings for the IMEI #.

AFTER you have it flashed you can update the PRL to 3027, and THEN provision the phone for web, mms, etc..

it Failed Activation. when I * 228 I get kicked out. Was wondering if there was a monitoring type tool to see what was the exact reason as between the root the rom s other customizations etc. It could be one little thing or it could be a whole mess of things.

(trouble shooter in me rearing it's head. New to this part of realm.

Thank you for taking out the crayons and drawing me the picture, Houdini works as well yes. Metro can't decide if they have corporate stores or not. MEtro gave me two numbers and upon caling them they said they were NOT corporate stores. so?????

My apolgies as somehow the Quick Reply button didnt' put it in the correct post.

Most corp stores won't houdini smart phones. Metro will tell u they do but once u call the store they will tell u otherwise. *228 will not work until the esn has been added to metro database which is what houdini does. There is not much u can do unitl u have that done. Try a dealer store. Or search how to flash to boost and use the method they do to repair by using a metro phone with good esn. All of these guides are no good until you have the phone flashed to metro I know they're decieving but it doesn't get you service it just gives you web mms.

The wording in some of the threads is a little confusing and reading them all together is enough to make your head explode.. They are good guides for people who have their same knowledgebase however for us newb's from square one? lilextra work. all together made is sound like the way I did it only needed esn put in database so thanx for clarification. buying houdini when I get home as my parents on metro as well. you cleared up the pieces of the process 100 percent.

coulple questions on a few of those pieces but they belong else where as far as I can tell at this moment. you ROCK ! ! ! !

why would you buy houdini O.O i think they only sell it to stores anyways. you need to get your phone added to the metro database and you can do that by going on ebay or asking around here. if you do a search on my thread im pretty sure you can find the guy who says he adds esn's lol

Seriously! Don't buy houdini (if its even possible..) find an authorized dealer or eBay person to add esn. I admire your ambition and laissez-faire attitude though!

Yea your not gonna be able to just buy houdidni go.to a dealer store and have them do it. Most stores will do it for like 20$ now. At least by me they do.

T_galownia- I didn't see a location in your profile. If u want to tell us what city you're in, I'm sure someone could point u in the right direction for adding ur esn to mpcs either at a store or a reputable eBay flasher.

Ok so what piece of the puzzle am I missing. I thought that is what houdini is supposed to do?

This is learning process for me. I am not a good book learner until I have a strong personal knowledge base. Untill thien I have to go though the process to get it to where I understand the process and how to fix things that went wrong instead of just pressing the correct buttons and praying.

Besides I was thinking about kinda doing repairs and flashing rooting roms etc. as a small side job as am having fun with this and will help my learning.

I am in sacramento. I called the two stores I was given from Metro was as stores that can metro flash me phone, told me they werent' corporate stores and they couldn't do it. Thus that put me in a catch 22 as the second store they gave me only had an address not a telephone number. ( A telecommuncations company, Actually has an office without a telephone number? ) < pin drop> didn't make sense
