Exclamation samsung epic 4g e: signature can not be verified

Hey guys so here's the problem I'm having

1st off let me say that I do not have a pc or access to a pc so I cannot run adb or use one click

I've downloaded many different update.zip s from many diff websites and sources. Everytime I boot into recovery and select apply update from sd car I get
E:signature could not be verified
Installation aborted

Herers the steps I take to root

1. Usb debug is turned on. Idk if it makes a difference
2. I place update.zip in root of sd card
3. Reboot phone into recovery and pick apply update

I
That's pretty much it am I missing a step is the update.zip file corrupted
Please feel free to give any input ud like to

Go into recovery select "Install from zip"
then select "toggle signature verification"
then go back and try and reflash your update

He makes no mention of having clockwork recovery installed so I will assume you trying to use the stock recovery to do this.It won't work. You need a PC to be able to use adb to install ClockworkMod recovery onto your phone to be able to flash zips files like roms or kernels.

There are linux and mac root instructions as well. But you don't have any access to any kind of machine?at all? Not to sound like an ass...but I will. What are you doing with a smart phone, but no computer?
