[Q] [Question] How to Dump ROM and Root New Device (Mi700 DroidPad)
I know this is not a G1/Dream question, but I believe the best developers are in this area. I am about to get my hands on a new Mi700 DroidPad, a budget Android Tablet, with Android 2.2. I wrote a review which was picked up at Engadget http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/30/c...wfully-famili/
. The software as I can perceive it so far is problematic (slightly buggy). Since this is a new device (and I have checked for any development efforts from the Net and found none so far), I was wondering what I should do in order to:
1) Root the device
2) Dump the ROM
In regards to rooting the device, I was thinking since it shares the same CPU as the Aria and Legend (MSM7227), can I just use the one-click root method? I will try that, but would like to know alternatives if that fails.
On dumping the ROM, well... I have no idea what can be done, but would love to try doing it, so that Flash can run on it. At the moment, though it is on 2.2, Flash does not appear in the Market.
Anyway, thanks a lot guys. If anyone can help clarify the matter or point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. Btw, I'm trying to arrange with CSL to give developers some discount on purchasing this device which is equal in functionality with Samsung's Tab, without the crazy pricing.
