Default Kernel question

Ok, guys, I'm a stoopid noob. These things are waaayyy more complex than the Win Mo phones.

I rooted my phone about 2 weeks ago. I used a 1 click root method. I think it was supposed to have busybox and clockwork mod in it. Seemed to work ok.

I removed a few of the "bloatware" apps and added a few others that required root.

Now, I did the OTA update to DI18 and it worked, but seem to have capped upload speeds. I read that if the kernel isn't stock, it would not work right.

Since I didn't flash a new rom or anything, shouldn't I still be on the stock Kernel? My kernel number is 2.6.29

Any help is appreciated!

Correct, you would have had to manually flash a different kernel, as the one click root is nothing more than unlocking.
