Default T-Mobile G2 on AT&T?

I've been looking for a successor to the Nexus One, and this seems to be it. I just have a simple question, would this work on AT&T? I know I would have to unlock it and it would only be on EDGE, but can I do that?

I'm sure there's a way to unlock it, but it seems pretty pointless to use it on AT&T. I think the real delight to the phone is the fact that it utilizes T-Mobile's new HSPA+ network.

you can unlock it but its useless since you won't be able to get 3G or HSPA+. wrong bands. Just go get a Captivate.

i only tried it for a little while because i actually have tmobile but i unlocked just for the hell of it. but its really not THAT bad just like how most of the people with tmobile on iphones. but of course compared to the speed that this phone is capable of after HSPA+ is COMPLETELY up and running theres no sense in using it on at&t LOL

Can you post a link? So far, everything points to only T-mobile and Verizon carrying the HTC Desire Z (aka G2) in the US.
