DONATE TO ME
What phone are you coming from?
Well to be honest bro I had a vibrant that was rooted, lag fixed, gps fix, mobileap, but... I am completely happy with my g2! My hinge isn't loose what so ever.. it runs very fast without any lag or gliches. The gps is amazing. It shows me walking around in my house lol.. and its just a solid phone. The build and everything

I love my G2

Seems like a lot of people just want to complain about every single little flaw they see. "I can't text while I'm upside down with the keyboard", "my track pad doesn't move diagonally", "the speaker phone doesn't go up to 165131 decibels".

I had a nexus one, loved it but the internal rom and memory was just to low, I had to start deleting apps.

Sold that had a vibrant (which I recently sold, thank god ) supposedly the best android phone as far as speed and memory. Yes its fast but Laggy and the gps doesn't work no matter what fix they send OTA. I honestly believe it is a hardware issue. That phone will not see froyo for a while, and it was extremely buggy.

My g2 I love it, yes it's a bit smaller and a little heavier but it does everything I need it to do and better than all the other phones listed. I was playing Home Run derby on my G2 and the movement is always smooth specially when you move your bat to your desired position. 9 times out of 10 on my vibrant it wasn't smooth so I couldn't even play.

Even though benchmarks don't mean much, but when you do a side by side comparison between a non lag fixed vibrant and a out of the box g2 it will come up with some sort of hypothesis. The g2 beat it by at least 600, mflops on the g2 always double the vibrant.

So I say the G2 is an awesome phone.

I'm coming from an HD2. The HD2 was a good phone, but I didn't want to deal with the horrible keyboard, and MS messenging client. It was fast and very powerful. It played any video content I put in it. I still have the phone because I wanna play with WM7 when it's released. But I LOVE my G2. Its very smooth and responsive. I find myself using the built in keyboard a lot more than the physical KB. It's nice being able to actually use the market, unlike WM. The apps work perfect. My hinges are fine, I got not complaints. Just glad to be back on android.

Best phone I've ever used.
The path to greatness: Sidekick 2 > Sidekick 3 > HTC Hermes > HTC Kaiser > BlackBerry 9700 > T-Mobile G2 > HTC Sensation > Galaxy Nexus i9250

Codename Android

I love the fact that I can run any app and not worry about the phone freezing. I still have my slide which is stock rooted and overclocked to 844 mhz and the phone is really good, but it would eat up memory and freeze sometimes. I can honestly say this phone never froze on me since I've received it on the 30th of September. The picture quality is awesome, screen size is perfect for me, & even the keyboard is very solid. Granted I use swype more than the physical keypad. I can honestly say besides the "hidden" 2.5 gb, I love this device!

Default Lovin' It.

I'm lovin' my G2 so far. I came from a lowly G1. It's rooted and running 2.2 (Biffmod - based off CM6 but without all the stuff that makes the phone lag). While it was running good for a G1 running Froyo it was aggravating having apps that should be multi-taskable closing all the time... It would even get so lagged down due to low memory that they keyboard would crash trying to type a Tweet in Tweetdeck!

With my G2 I have access to more apps. Every app I download runs flawlessly (assuming it's not just a crappy app ) and I don't run into memory crashes. Yes, I miss having root and the wifi hotspot (had Wireless Tether installed on my G1) but I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the guys over the in the Thinktank figure out a way to make the temp root stick. When they do... I'll be even more in love with my phone.

I considered sending it back... but at this point, I just can't see myself going back to the G1 and nothing else out there in T-Mobile land compares. So yeah... I'm keeping my G2 and lovin' it.
Left T-Mobile behind and joined the Network!

Do not take the "bitchfest" about the G2 to heart...it is an awesome phone with great speed, and smooth response, the keyboard is nice as well. A lot of people want you to believe that every phone that comes out should have everything for you, that would make it the perfect phone. It doesnt exist, if it did, you wouldnt need another phone...ever. Phone companies know that and so you will always have a issue with one. Enjoy the phone, and find out for yourself how much you will like or dislike it.
