Tmobile G2 Charging Dock

I was wondering if anyone knew whether the G2 was going to be getting a charging dock/stand?

I am a really big fan of the "bedside mode" that the charging dock provides.

I took a look on ebay and a few other places but haven't seen one yet. I'd also like to get a bedside dock.

ya, one that will charge an extra battery sure would be great

It would be great if they made one. I wish I could be designer I would made it metal and grey like the g2 and then cup the bottom of the screen.

Tried my own homebrew "bedside" mode. The friggin orange charging light kept me up all night.

I've been looking at the docks for the droid2. I'll have to relocate the microusb on it, but the size looks right. I'll have to find a store that'll let me open one to be sure. Or find one on craigslist for cheap.

I wish HTC and others start making Android phones with charging pins on bottom corners like Blackberry. That would be very nice and help preventing wear and tear to the MicroUSB port. Plus it is more convenient to just “drop” the phone in the dock stand and charge away.

If you find this out before I do please update. I'm interested in doing the same. I found a tear down of the original droid dock and it looks like it would be easy enough.

My buddy has a Droid2 and it would take some work to make it fit properly. First is the location of the plug, and second issue is the plug is reversed (front to back) so it would need to be turned around also. And given the way the plug is mounted in the dock, it would require epoxying it in place, as the screw and bracket would not work.
Also, the side profile of the two fines is not the same, so the G2 will fit very loosely in the cradle. Again, some ingenuity and it could be made to work, but it wont be a quick fix.

Try a Droid X dock.
