The touchscreen is glass. Period.

Now that that's aside, how would being glass or plastic have any relation at all to the problem you are experiencing?

Could be the charger. Sometimes the diodes go bad and allow ac voltage to leak through. This has made my g1 screen act very strange when connected to a specific charger.

Yes I have it happen also at times, not always. With AC Charger and USB charging. I have noticied that if use a task killer before putting to charge I am ok.

Innisdb, are you using the stock t-mo wall charger, or a different one/car charger?

Do you mean charging via usb from a computer? Was the computer pluged in to ac? The thing of it is that all of the rectifiers/transformers are made out of really cheap parts. Diodes can and do leak you might never knoww until you plug in something sensitive enough to notice (capacitive touchscreen). Most high end electronics have capacitors to soak this stuff up, but I'm not sure phones have enough space to add capacitors. In a pc the motherboard has caps on it but power supply doesn't .

Also of note is that the battery can soak this stuff up too but as batt voltage comes closer to charging voltage ( like when nearing full charge) this ability deminishes. Its bad for the life of the batt and phone if this issue is a supply voltage fluctuation problem btw.
