Default Just ordered an EVO, have some questions.

I haven't received the product yet... I want to get all my research done before I start fiddling around with it. Should I apply all the updates on the phone before I root it and flash a custom ROM on it?

thanks in advance!

Ya if it doesnt included latest update you can always get it ota and then root. What roms are you looking at flashing?

not sure what ROM I want atm but I plan on testing out a few... My fear is that I will apply an update that the current root method does not work with... do you know if I will run into a problem like that?

Most likely, it will come completely updated. Don't worry about it, just come back with questions, once you receive your new Evo. There's plenty of help around here. By the way, congratulations on a great phone, and welcome!

I will do... thanks

It was the Evo vs the Epic... most of the reviews favor Evo so I went with that
