Default Android 3gig allowance T-mobile third party

Hey guys, gonna try and keep this somewhat simple.

You may know of these threads from the Desire board in April 2010
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=685883
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659695

Basically, people who order a T-Mobile contract from a third party (mobiles.co.uk, MPD, phones4u etc) only get a 1gb data limit when it should be 3gb. Even worse, their download/browsing speeds are limited to 360kpbs.

A lot of users managed to have their contracts changed to that of the fair use policy as stated on the T-mobile website; all android users on T-mobile contracts have a 3gb fair use policy and "web 'n' walk plus". (third party is just web 'n' walk)

My question:

Is it going to be the same deal now with the Desire HD being released? If I order from a third party provider, am I going to have to try haggle T-Mobile to give me the data allowance and speed I should be getting with the risk of them saying no?

I have gone the Quidco/e2save/Tmobile route. I can deal with the 1GB instead of 3GB, but not if they are going to throttle the 3G download speed. Does anyone know if this is true?

I am expecting delivery today so need to find out asap so i can send it back and get one ordered direct from Tmobile.

Thanks.

as far as i am aware the reason you are limited to 3g speeds and 1gb a month is because those companies all use the booster for the internet. As a result you only get the "basic" internet. When you order through t-mobile you get unlimited internet PLUS a booster which you can use for more texts or free landline calls etc.

There is rumours that T-Mobile have stopped changing peoples contracts around to allow you to have web n walk plus but I don't see why they would do that. What it may mean is that to get the faster speed and bigger GBs you need to sacrifice your unlimited texts down to 300 or something.

You'll only really know once people start trying to change it i suppose.

3rd parties have capped data allowance as it allows them to give you better offers like free phone from £30 a month. data speeds are not limited at all as you will be using the t-mobile network as 3rd parties don't have their own networks. you can also have your data increased to 3gig by simply calling customer services. TBH i have never gone over 500mb so dont see the big deal with it all
Sony Xperia Z
Samsung Galaxy S4- Vertigo's P.A.C 22.4
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - Vertigo Official Xperia Themed PAC V22.4

Top Shelf: i have had them all and still have a few lying round........too many to play with at once

this goes against what we have heard from a lot of other people who got t-mobile deals from 3rd party dealers.

A user from another forum who just got his Desire HD from a third party already confirmed T-mobile upgraded him when he called to the 3gig limit and gave him a free booster
