Storage You can use a POT to set the resistor value also.

A POT or Potentiometer is a "variable" can be used instead of the fixed resistors. The values of the resistors vary because they have many factory tolerance levels.

When using a POT, you would set the resistance with a digital ohmeter and then affix to the usb jig.

NTE, ECG or Radio Shack will usually stock these.

This specific one will have a variable resistance from 100 Ohms to 1Meg Ohm.

The NTE part number is SU/RV6NAY

Please look here for a visual at the nteinc dot com website.

I have a friends i9000 which doesn't have download or recovery mode (no 3 button combo) I tried flashing this psbl file it with odin but it got stuck and now it seems to be bricked. I see the phone yellow sign in the middle and pc on the right. Is there any chance I can recover it with this JIG method? Or is is ****ed completely?
Devices

Thanks to this thread, I built my own jig and saved my cappy! It wouldn't have been a big deal, but my power button is dead, and I spent over an hour trying to coax my cappy into download mode. So I got three 100k ohm resistors, and soldered me up a jig using the micro usb plug from my old, dead charge/sync cable. It works great! A huge thanks to everyone who has helped discover the secrets of the galaxy s series!

Open odin, then plug the phone into the computer. If the phone is recognized, try flashing again. Some bootloader versions have the phone ! pc screen as an alternate download mode.

If odin recognizes the phone but can't/won't flash to it, download heimdall. Heimdall has an option to close the phone ! pc screen, and you should be able to flash using odin or heimdall after that.

If neither of those work, a jig may work for you. As I posted above, I just built and used my own jig. NOTE: You have to turn the phone off before plugging the jig in. Or at least I had to. I actually had to pull my battery, then insert the jig, then replace the battery, since my power button is shot.

I really do not trust myself making this homemade JIG, even though I understand the somplicifty of the instructions. I would rather have the assurance of a completed one for pruchase. Does anyone have an trusted sites to offer?

Default i need help

Hello i hope my english is good enough to explain you my problem with my Galaxy S I9000.

I will explain it from the beginning to the end.
I had want to flash my Galaxy S with GB from Vodafone to SLIM ICS.
In the Internet was witing, that I had to flash first an ICS Kernel befor flashing to SLIM ICS. I had found an GB with ICS Kernel to flash with ODIN.
( I had flash 3 times with Odin and had no problem to yesterday)
I flash it like ist was in the desrcription step to step. After I had click on start button in Odin, the package failed at the end and my galaxy s hang on in the download mode. I want make it again but the downloadmode and recovery mode don’t work anymore. My data from my phone

FW: 2.3.6
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJW6-CL1086604
Buildnumber: GINGERBED.UCLB3

( don’t work: WIFI, sim card but I think it comes from the flashing because it is failed and I can´t root into download mode)

I´d tried for the download mode:
-Vol- BUTTON and ON (no download and with Vol+ no recovery mode)
-JIG adapter but it don’t work ( dont startup into download mode or enything else)
-Terminal Emulator ( with z4root)
- adb with cmd from windows 7 (admin rights)

But I cant repair my download mode.

Have anyone other idea?
I think warranty claim does not work, because flashing

I hope my English was not to bad and someone can help me
