Windows is essentially an operating system with 64 bit support over a 32 bit extension and a graphical shell for a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a 4 bit microprocessor, written by a 2 bit company that can't stand 1 bit of competition!

Wifi works both in 2.6.32 and 2.6.25.
Only camera doesn't work on Polaris

So focus on 2.6.32. Maybe it's a better idea to rewrite all module with w4l support (and so camcoder will probably work)

Thanks for the tip, though i never got wifi working on pola200 (o2 orbit 2) But still i will make camera work somehow, expect months of development, and I am doing this for fun, weekends 10+ hours on this weekdays about 1 hours or perhaps 30 minutes . For the lulz, what DE works on the polaris linux kernel? fluxbox?
EDIT: Camcorder or camera? Cuz camcorder will take too long And is it possible that I use some zImage or NBH of somebody's to get a rough image of stuff i can edit and crap?

You need to start from kernel sources, latest working version with camera is in 2.6.25 in 2.6.32 it never works.

Yeah lol, I'm a master at both Windows and Mac OSX, have quite some experience in Linux, and I still can't get wifi working. Maybe that 'dummy' thread can help me, once i finsh reading it. Kind of embarassing, if you think about it

YAY! lawl. Happy day on 1st of November since I'm getting a new phone .
That means I can do even more dangerous stuff with my Polaris!
BTW, here is some progress, expect a beta build being released soon:
Camera: Works, but you got to keep the phone centered on the picture for 5-10 secs after you take a pic.
Camcorder: 3-5 seconds of recording then crashes. FAIL.
All done on the beloved .32 kernel

EDIT: Works on Myn's Warm Donut and some Froyo builds only. I don't think it works on Eclair.

Well, it's gonna be out in the wild soon enough. NBH too. Hope so at least.
BTW, Camcorder is not working as well as I thought it would. Only sometimes, and when it does, 1-3 seconds (wrong info in my last post). The camera output works in Froyo, but even in camera shots, if you keep it too long it crashes. Meh.

EDIT: l1q1d, here are the tools i used: NBHCREATOR (too lazy to convert my zImage to NBH, doing 2 jobs when i can do 1 ) and Atools. Okay?
EDIT 2: I figured out I am doing this on my own. Anyone here? *silence*
