Whomever can't see the scratches isn't nearsighted. I can scratch it with my fingernail and minimal pressure. They aren't deep, sure, but there is no denying that gorilla glass is only good at cracking and scratching. Basically what it comes down to is less of a scratch. plastic doesn't explode into fifty million pieces when you drop it too. Think of your old Nokia and try cracking the screen.

In all fairness I have dropped my iPhone several times and it never cracked, but it always fell flat.

Similar technique here:

I got small scratches on the screen, I had car keys and phone in the same pocket.

They're quite small and not visible unless you go hunting. The rule of thumb is to have one of your pockets exclusively for your phone!

The scratches are easily inflicted with sand.
One of my buddies after a game of valleyball on the beach put his Captivate into the pocket that still had sand in it.
The result wasn't pretty.

I had my Vibrant for just over a week. I haven't dropped it on the ground. Haven't dropped anything on the screen. Keep it in my pocket that only has cash and credit cards in it and I have a small scratch on it that is visible at an angle. Either my thumbnail scratched it just through normal use of typing, a credit card scratched it, or I scratched it while wiping it clean while the only on it was dust or cat hair. Either way, it got scratched.

Have no idea, where from recently I got 2 scratches on my Galaxy S "gorilla" (like a short single hair, but nasty "spectral" effect on white background), but I wonder, why there's nothing on market like a "liquid glass": just to fill a scratch up with it and let it harden

With the G2x Gorilla glass, I simply use a vertical flip case. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbon-Fiber...item2314c5e656 For Vibrant http://www.ebay.com/itm/Case-Screen-...item2eba6f733a Here is a Vibrant custom leather case in flip, pouch or open style (any color or accessory added!) http://www.fortte.com/483/Samsung-Vibrant-leather-case/

My glass is flawless after 7 months with no protector. Admittedly though I don't take it out much because I work at home. But I throw it in my purse with the change!

*Note: Two things to avoid with flip cases.
-Magetic closures at the top of the phone. Could mess with radio and other sensors. (The sensors are "usually" at top half.) I avoid magnets all together if possible.

-Closure flaps that hang over the face at the top of the phone: This can trigger the proximity sensor and really screw you up. (Happened to me on a Nokia.)

Default scratches

That was a cool tuorial, I've had my My HTC desire HD for 18 months now before I picked up a scratch. It normally shares a pocket with my leather wallet which I suspect polishes my screen continuously. but I've recently started wearing jeans and I think that one of the studs have put a scratch which is not too deep but about 7mm long. It's not bad but it irritating LOL. I will try the rubbing compound or automotive polish before i try something as hectic as wet sanding paper
