Question Telefon mort
Salut Razvan !

Seems from the last few posts on here (including the guy above who's got a Romanian Orange phone), this fix is far from "safe" and "110%" sure.

I honestly suggest a disclaimer be added to the initial post and the link from the main SGS site.

Multumesc anticipat

In primul rand, iti multumesc pentru interesul acordat acestui fix.

2. facultate in curs = timp zero
3. viata privata/iubita

Thanks for your quick reply.

So your saying that my phone left the factory with working 3bttn but after Orange Romania flashed JM1 firmware, the SBL was replaced with the non working 3bbttn SBL but which was still compatible with factory PBL?

I have a late night theory, very hard to follow:

My guess is that there are at least two PBL older one-faulty and new one and two SBL (working 3bttn/non working 3bttn)

old PBL+non working 3bttn SBL=ok
new PBL+non working 3bttn SBL=ok
new PBL+working 3bttn SBL=ok
old PBL+working 3bttn SBL=brick

We observe that new PBL works fine with both SBL and old PBL is not working at all with 3bttn enabled SBL. So, if you follow my thoughts, it seems that working 3bttn SBL is somehow newer than non working 3bttn SBL version (it's a fact that new software is backward compatible). It figures that when still on production line, old PBL (or maybe faulty one)+working 3bttn SBL bricked phones were dumped. But the old PBL+non working 3bttn SBL phones, since testing was ok, managed to get to market.
Samsung observed high rate of dumped phones becouse of faulty PBL flashing (maybe something was wrong with the hardware that flash the PBL ROM or maybe the ROM chips were delivered to the factory flashed randomly wrong) and addressed this issue (flashed PBL as it meant to be flashed). Resulted new(addressed) PBL+working 3bttn SBL ok phones.

So, Samsung, at first fix 3bttn issue and then realizing that too much control over the phone hardware/software was done, change his mind (as we all know Samsung does that -push back releases, pull back firmware etc) and disabled again 3bttn(reverted back). You see now, even with new firmware releases (froyo) Samsung doesn't want or can't fix the 3bttn issue and lag. Too confident that all kies updates will go so smooth, that entering recovery mode is not necessary.
As a conclusion personaly i don't think that phones with poorly flashed PBL (old one) will ever work with this fix (SBL taken from 3bttn enabled phones)

I think that only solution is to re flash both PBL and SBL on these phones.

Do you think that flashing JM1 included flashing low level PBL/SBL?
