Does AppBrain work better from the phone or the SD card?

Hi, Not sure if this is the correct location, but I'm taking a shot. I have noticed even after deleting AppBrain's cache and even uninstalling the program altogether, that sometimes, downloading an update just hangs. I moved the application from my SD card back to the device and noticed this disappeared. Do applications in general run more reliably from the device or do they equally run fine from either the device or the SD card?
