Now I'm a self-confessed noob, so I have no idea about tweaking and/or applying lagfixes. Would some kind soul give me instructions, or otherwise point me to where these are available?

Many thanks in advance!

PS. Oh, and thanks Hardcore! Keep up the good work!

go into recovery mate, and you will see the tweaks and lagfix options there
use the recommended ones only (tweaks)
lag fix wise just enable it

Thanks totallydubbed!

Which tweaks are recommended? I don't really see any indication of recommended ones..

For lagfix I've changed the filesystem config to ext4. Is there anything else? (I read that changing SYSTEM/ is not recommended.)

It probably happens because calls are directed through the analog amp and those who use VoodooSound usually use the "forced" mode (set their digital media volume to the max and set the amplification to a lower value).

If that's the situation, it can't be tweaked in the kernel. If there is an activity in VoodooControl that can be called from Tasker and sets the amp to a given value, it might be manageable.

As I recall, it lists if a tweak is recommended, optional or not recommended by initial (r, o, or nr).

As for applying lagfix to the system, it is a matter of personal taste. It may be a little less "safe" but I prefer to put lagfix on the system as well.

indeed as he pointed out.
But personally i put:
system lagfix conversion: ON
lagfix ON: EXT4 (Converted RFS to EXT 4)
recommended (r) tweaks: ON

I'm on damian's kernel atm, as i'm getting better battery life out of it
