Default Omnia 7: Making the power button flush

Of course the big issue with the Omnia 7 is the daft placement of the power button. To think that someone made the conscious decision to put it there, and that someone else approved it... makes you wonder.

Anyway, mine hasn't arrived yet but I'm guessing it should be relatively simple to replace the power button with one which doesn't stick out so far, or maybe to modify the current button by removing material from the internal face.

Could one of you guys who's already taken your Omnia apart have a look at the viability of this please?

Thanks

I haven't had a problem with it at all!

I assume that problems with the placement were theoretical because I have yet to accidentally switch off my phone as one review said would happen or even to press it while talking etc.

In fact I find it very handy as the button also switches on the screen when it is locked.

Hello,
After 2 weeks of using the phone I have to admit that the place of this power button is really nice : you can completly use your phone with a single hand, no need to get the "top" of the phone to shut it down or to wake it up...At first it's a little disturbing but very fast you will like it!
The guys that decided to put it there had a great idea (I was also scary about this at first)

I also thought I wouldn't get on with the power button being where it is but actually I really like it and find its in an easier place than on the top.
