Default Bluetooth keyboard?

So now that 2.1 is out, would a bluetooth keyboard work with the X10 Mini?

I doubt it.. well.. at least, I am still having issues connecting to a computer (its like its still the old crappy 1.6 firmware) I thought this would all be sorted once 2.1 rolled out.. I guess sony ericsson forgot to implement bluetooth 2.1 protocol in the 2.1 Android build.. unless they don't use bluetooth in Nordic regions?

anyone else had better luck?

Bluetooth was initially developed in Scandinavia, its named after Harald I of Denmark (Harald "Bluetooth" Gormsson) and the Bluetooth symbol is a frekkin' rune.

On the more serious side. It most definitely should work. Not because of the above but because - ugh, I don't even think I have to list the reasons. Does anyone has any experience with Bluetooth keyboards and the X10 Mini?

Is it expected to be the same with the entire X10 series, by the way?

I tried with the Logitech DiNovo Mini, no luck.

All I got is "Paired but not connected" on the X10 mini and the BT light blinking red on the keyboard (meaning it's not paired nor connected)

So.. sewdel.. care to share the list of reasons you have that this "should" work? I can give you a few reasons it won't work.. the fact that the X10mini (and pro?) are missing all the services that you would usually find on a SE phone. like.. Dial-up networking (DUN), Drivers for keyboard, mice etc (HID), OBEX SyncML, Media Remote control, SEMC HLA (don't even know what that is..), SEMC Watch Phone, Serial port (SPP), file transfer (FTP)
(this was just what my old K850i offered.. none of which the X10mini supports)
even the MW600 SE bluetooth headset doesn't work right with the X10 (and it was made to go with it!!).. so why "Should" a bluetooth keyboard work?

SE can't implement BT under android.. with their old phones they were gods.. I think Android is just too difficult for them.. (and I was really looking forward to track id with the MW600.. but its never gonna happen)

You can get a BT HID drivers for Android here:

http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?s...ueinputandroid

(Cost 10 Euros, but a free trial is available)

Can anyone give this a try?

I donīt have anything to try it on.. but it looks promising, I wonder if there are other apps out there that can give us other features.. like caller id and mp3 names on bluetooth headsets..

Oh man, I almost purchased an MW600 but as I read that it can't display caller's name (and track names) with Android devices, then I felt that it's display is useless.

These features are in the library BlueZ uses by Android - so, to support it would be just a _very_ little afford from Google.

If I would be at SE, I would implement even a propertary sopport for SE Android devices...

I tried this on my X10i (not the mini)

Code:
$ su
su

# hciconfig
hciconfig
hci0: Type: UART
BD Address: 24:21:AB:F3:64:56 ACL MTU: 1021:5 SCO MTU: 60:8
        UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN
        RX bytes:24684 acl:639 sco:0 events:978 errors:0
        TX bytes:6388 acl:74 sco:0 commands:348 errors:0

# hcitool dev
hcitool dev
Devices:
        hci0 24:21:AB:F3:64:56

# hcitool scan
hcitool scan
Scanning ...
        00:07:61:76:CE:9D Logitech diNovo Edge

# hidd --connect 00:07:61:76:CE:9D
hidd --connect 00:07:61:76:CE:9D

# hcitool con
hcitool con
Connections:
        < ACL 00:07:61:76:CE:9D handle 10 state 1 lm MASTER
Looking good, the keyboard also indicates that it is connected (bluetooth and battery light are green for a second), it does nothing on the phone however and I can't use the keyboard for typing.
