I'm a bit confused, do I run the windows script attached prior to running the hboot? I'm assuming this hboot.zip can only be run after the recovery image has been created.

Basically I tried rooting hboot 2.02 before seeing this thread and ended up with the Red Triangle w/exclamation. So I had to run my RUU and start all over. This is my wife's Evo which was just shipped yesterday.

updates first post. No...that script that was attached (no longer is) was for users of the old version.

Cool so no script. But how do I run this hboot.zip without being rooted? I've rooted plenty of phones since the Hero was released and always known you have to have a recovery image loaded before being able to zip from flash. but I can't seem to get that far since having 2.02

there is a script...choose one of your liking on the first post.

ok so when i get to the red triangle and type in to commands i get

cannnot stat 'files' : no such file or directory
- exec '/system/bim/sh' failed: no such file or directory

Getting

"- exec '/system/bin/sh' failedermission denied (13) -" at the red triangle after successfully pushing files / said it copied 30 files 0 skipped. Any thoughts?

it seems like i have root but i cant install amon ra's recovery while in the stock recovery and when i try with the phone on it says flash_img:not found

it looks like something didnt copy right...could you explain how you got to this point?

what version did you use

i see this

/system/bim/sh

it should be bin check your commands
